The BIG3 basketball, co-founded by Ice Cube, got created for retired NBA stars to throw down on the court with the same skills they had in the NBA but not at the same level.

Since its start in 2017, the league has gathered a lot of attention and has attracted fans and celebrities to its event. With an idea and the help of a few investors, the event has grown. Of course, while there’s success there’s also hardships and in this case, it’s in the form of investors.

Ice Cube and his co-founder Keith Jeff Kwatinetz are going after Qatari Investment Group in a $1.2 billion lawsuit according to Hot Hip Hop News. The investment group agreed to give $5 million to the league but have not kept their promise.

After several attempts for their contribution to the league, Kwatinetz received a threat from one of the members in the investment group who said, “You don’t know who I know in L.A. and what they’re capable of. You should think of your safety and the safety of you and your family.”

Ice Cube and Kwatinetz are suing the group for $1.2 billion in damages and defamation.
