How does a behind the scenes show about a comedy tour even happen?
“Somebody came out and saw us in Los Angeles and then said it was a show,” explained DL Hughley. He continued, “We had a bunch of meetings with Netflix, CBS, and ABC. We decided on BET because of the chance to do BET and Comedy Central. So it’s two different audiences, two different nights…It just seemed like more of an opportunity for us to be who we were.”
When asked if he liked Comedy Kings or The Comedy Get Down Hughley said the Get Down. “”Now it’s so much different than it was when we were younger. We had Walter Latham and we didn’t know really what the game was. So I’m having more fun now because it just not about proving anything, everybody is established.”
