Word on the curb is that Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake are being heavily courted by the NFL for next year’s Super Bowl halftime extravaganza.

Last night, Hov was confirmed as a musical guest for the Season 43 premiere of “Saturday Night Live” on Sept. 30, with actor Ryan Gosling to host.

This morning, the blog Hits Daily Double cites “informed sources” who say…

…discussions are underway for Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z to perform together at halftime during Super Bowl LII (52) at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on 2/4.

It would be a huge look for RCA superstar Timberlake’s forthcoming album, due in early 2018.

JT and Jay-Z appeared together on the former’s smash “Suit and Tie” and the latter’s huge “Holy Grail,” and joined forces on the top-grossing Legends of the Summer Tour in 2013.

If the rumors are true, the appearance would be Timberlake’s first since his part in the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” scandal with Janet Jackson at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004. The choreography led to her exposed bare nipple on live television, and a record $550,000 fine from the FCC, though it was later voided in court.

Jay-Z, of course, will be promoting his new album “4:44.” FYI, Sprint is giving out free tickets to select concerts on his upcoming “4:44” tour, but only for folks who sign up for a trial membership to Tidal. The carrier says it will offer one ticket to new or current customers who sign up for Tidal’s six-month trial membership and add a line of service, or two tickets to customers who activate two or more lines and the trial membership on Saturday, August, 26th.

Tickets will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and will only be available at Sprint retailers and dealers on Saturday. Sprint is only offering tickets to 10 shows in nine cities so not all customers will be able to take advantage of this offer unless they’re willing to travel.
