Colin Kaepernick may be using a bended knee to make his voice heard, but he will not use his vote to do the same.

According to Matt Barrows, who covers the San Francisco 49ers for the Sacramento Bee, the team’s quarterback said Tuesday he “has not voted, and will not vote, in the 2016 presidential election.”

The 29-year-old has been staging a public protest since the preseason by kneeling during the national anthem, voicing concerns over racial inequality and police violence. It caught the eye of Republican nominee for president Donald Trump, who called the protest “a terrible thing.” The veteran signal caller responded by saying that “America has never been great for people of color.”

Kaepernick has said in recent months that both candidates have been “debating who’s less racist,” and called America’s two main candidates “embarrassing.”

“To me, it was embarrassing to watch that these are our two candidates,” Kaepernick told reporters following the first presidential debate between Trump and Hillary Clinton. “Both are proven liars, and it almost seems like they’re trying to debate who’s less racist. And at this point, talking with one of my friends, it was, you have to pick the lesser of two evils, but in the end, it’s still evil.”

The QB, meanwhile, continues to take a knee during the national anthem before games to protest of racial discrimination.

Happy 29th Birthday Colin Kaepernick
