A lot of folks are beginning to realize that if you buy a ticket to see Lauryn Hill perform, you run the very serious risk of throwing your money away.

That’s because she may or may not show up and if she does, she’ll most likely be several hours late. That was the case this past week in Atlanta when the singer’s tardiness to her recent concert in Atlanta, causing the singer’s name to trend on Twitter for much of the day yesterday

Even though everybody else was talking about her, Miss Hill didn’t say nary a word. Until now.

Check this out. The singer says in a posting to Facebook that she’s “figuring out a plan” to make it up to fans who waited more than two hours to see her show at Chastain Park Amphitheatre on Friday. Due to her late arrival and the venue’s 11 p.m. curfew, the singer only performed for less than 40 minutes before her sound was cut off.

“I have nothing but Love and appreciation for the fans in Atlanta, and regret not being able to give you a full show,” the note reads.

While a fan video seems to show Hill blaming her driver for her tardiness, her Facebook message does not make mention of this.

Here’s some of the message:

Because I care so deeply about the artistic process, I scrutinize, have perfectionist tendencies, and want space made for spontaneity, which is not an easy process, with the many moving parts on the road. Some days we are more successful than others re time. However, the vitality that is infused into the performances is always appreciated by the audiences, who may not know exactly what it took to accomplish. What hasn’t been touched upon by the media, I’m sure, are the hundreds of people who rushed the stage and stayed in excess of an hour after the show ended last night, just to connect.

Hill goes on to say she will soon announce how she plans on making it up to fans as soon as she can figure it out.

Hmm, good luck with that. In the meantime, buyer beware!
