Rapper Bobby Shmurda (real name: Ackquille Pollard) is suing the city of New York claiming he was falsely arrested on gun and drug charges. Bobby asserts that he was simply hanging out at a friend’s residence on Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn when cops knocked on the door. According to the lawsuit, “When one of the occupants opened the door a slight bit to see who was there, Officer Douglas Corso and other police officers kicked in the door and illegally entered the residence without a search warrant.”

According to the NY Daily News, 21-year-old Pollard alleges that while the cops were ransacking the apartment, they taunted him by “chanting the lyrics to his chart-topping songs,” the suit states. Neither the gun, nor drug paraphernalia seized from the apartment belong to rapper, he claims.

The notoriously corrupt NYPD are claiming Shmurda was attempting to stash a firearm in the couch.

The gun charge in Brooklyn was eventually dismissed, but Bobby is currently facing weapons possession charges in separate cases in Manhattan and the Bronx. His lawyer, Derek Sells, is a civil rights lawyer who is married to Civilian Complaint Review Board executive director Mina Malik. Pollard did not file a civilian complaint with the CCRB about an illegal search, Sells said.

Corso, the only named cop in the suit, was a defendant in five other federal civil rights lawsuits going back to 2011.

Shmurda claims he suffered permanent “nervous shock and mental anguish” as a result of the arrest.

The Daily News also reported that Shmurda was free on “$2 million bail.” Complex reached out to his lawyer who confirmed his client was still in custody. Bobby has been imprisoned for one year, four months and fourteen days, per HipHopDX.
