Karl Lagerfeld has chosen 15-year-old Willow Smith as a Chanel ambassador, and it seems a natural pairing – as the singer/model has been exuding confidence and rockin’ buzzworthy style since she was 9-years-old.

Billboard reports that Willow and her mom, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, sat front row at the French fashion house’s fall 2016 ready-to-wear presentation, and shortly after the show, it was announced that Willow had been chosen by Chanel’s team to join their exclusive club of cool ladies: Kristen Stewart, Lily-Rose Depp, Cara Delevingne and Julianne Moore.

In a statement Tuesday, Chanel announced: “The young singer, songwriter, actress and trendsetter has been wearing CHANEL for public appearances since 2013 and her first encounter with Karl Lagerfeld was in 2014 when he photographed her for the American magazine V. She was notably present at the CHANEL Fall-Winter 2016/17 Ready-to-Wear show presented this morning at the Grand Palais.”

Willow’s 17-year-old brother Jaden Smith modeled womenswear for Louis Vuitton’s spring-summer 2016 campaign. Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of the house, explained the label wanted Jaden to model for that particular campaign because he “represents a generation that has assimilated the codes of true freedom, one that is free of manifestos and questions about gender…Wearing a skirt comes as naturally to him as it would to a woman who, long ago, granted herself permission to wear a man’s trench or a tuxedo.”

Less than six months after Willow signed with IMG, she landed the ambassador status with Chanel, and she expressed her excitement about the gig in an Instagram post.
