NEW YORK (AP) — For the third consecutive year, more newborn girls in New York City were called Sophia than any other name.

City health officials say Tuesday there were 586 Sophias born in 2014. Sofia, with an ‘F,’ ranked number nine on the list.

They say Ethan was the most popular name for boys, with 740 of them born last year. The name had formerly ranked second in popularity in 2013 and 2012.

There were 122,084 babies born in the nation’s most populous city last year, 1,627 more than in 2013. The most babies, nearly 27,000, were born in Queens.

The top five most popular girl names were: Sophia, Isabella, Olivia, Mia and Emma.

The top five most popular boy names were: Ethan, Jacob, Liam, Jayden and Noah.
