The world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem plans to resurrect blues legend Billie Holiday as a hologram later this year.

The venue announced Wednesday that Hologram USA will develop the virtual likeness, which will be used to boost Apollo’s daytime programming. It will be available for viewing during the theater’s daytime tours.

The Apollo’s nighttime programming includes “Amateur Night” and “Apollo Music Cafe.”

Holiday, who made her debut at the Apollo when she was 19, appeared at the famed venue nearly 30 times. She was born in Philadelphia and died in 1959 in New York City at age 44.
