Judd Apatow, an outspoken critic of Bill Cosby since his alleged sexual assaults came to light, took to Twitter on Thursday to address one of Cosby’s prominent supporters, Whoopi Goldberg – acknowledging she’s trying to remain loyal to her friend, but saying she can not keep defending a man who has admitted his intention of drugging women before having sex with them.

Goldberg’s opinion, which she reiterated on “The View” this week – to major backlash – is that Cosby, 77, hasn’t been convicted of any crime and should be considered innocent until proven guilty.

Apatow, 47, rejects Goldberg’s reasoning entirely, saying that presuming his innocence is also to presume his dozens of accusers are lying. And with the unsealing of 2005 court documents this week, in which Cosby admitted to giving a woman Quaaludes and then having sex with her, the “Bridesmaids” producer has challenged Goldberg to finally stop defending him.
