Janet Jackson’s reemergence on the scene will be made official with an appearance at the BET Awards.

A source tells Page Six that the singer is set to be honored with a tribute on Sunday (June 28) at the annual event.

“Janet’s known for her dancing, so expect a lot of dancing,” said the source.

Despite hardly any information about the event coming from BET, Page Six reports that Ciara will be one of the performers on hand to pay tribute to Jackson. The 2015 BET Awards will mark Jackson’s first major television appearance in three years. Her last small screen sighting was on the 2009 BET Awards, where she paid homage to her brother Michael three days after his death.

Nowadays, Jackson can be found in the Middle East with her husband, Qatari business magnate Wissam Al Mana, whom she married in 2012. She dedicated the new single to  ‘My love. Jackson’s M.I.A. status resulted in fans having fun with her in the form of the creation of a joke “missing persons” poster that made its rounds on Twitter in April.

Jackson’s appearance at this year’s BET Awards comes after her announcement last month of a new album and her “Unbreakable” tour.
