He may be occupied with “The Walking Dead,” but if given the chance, Tyler James Williams would love to add Miles Morales to his list of portrayals.

According to MTV, the “Everybody Loves Chris” star expressed interest in playing Morales, the Marvel Ultimate Universe’s Spider-Man, should Marvel put together a live action film on the popular character.

“I kind of follow the Miles Morales character quite a bit. And I’m open to the idea, I am,” Williams shared during a recent interview with Flicks and the City at MCM London Comic-Con. “I’m not starting campaigns or anything for it because I trust Marvel. I’ve read for them before. So I trust what their decisions will be. But yeah, I’d love to do it. I would absolutely love to do it.”

The notion of Williams playing Morales isn’t as far fetched in the eyes of those who have been started grassroots campaigns for him online.

While we keep hope alive for Williams to add more diversity to Marvel’s roster of movie heroes, it looks like he’s dropped the bomb on some of that coming to DC’s movie landscape.

Chatting about the lack of diversity in comic book adaptations, a couple of people in the audience mentioned Spider-Man and Static Shock. As he responded to the mentions, Williams smiled and made the following revelation about Jaden Smith and a certain DC Comics character:

“I don’t know what you’re talking about… but yeah, it’s great to see Static Shock happening with Jaden.”

Williams’ comments seemingly confirm rumors that have been swirling for months on Smith playing Static, a young African-American boy gained the power to control electricity after being exposed to an experimental agent.

With the unofficial confirmation, MTV pointed out that Smith might have been trying to tip folks off beforehand with saying the word “shock” multiple times during his infamous New York Times interview in 2014.

“The only way to change something is to shock it,” Smith said. “If you want your muscles to grow, you have to shock them. If you want society to change, you have to shock them.”
