This is great news if you’re a Alfonso Ribeiro fan. And needless to say, it’s even greater news if you’re Alfonso Ribeiro.

OK let’s get to the point. The “Dancing With the Stars” champ and former “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” star is about to be large and in charge as he’s been picked to replace Tom Bergeron as the host of ABC’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Bergeron himself made the announcement Tuesday during the season finale of “DWTS.”

“After receiving hundreds of inquiries, stacks of video submissions and a very close audition race, one smile, one funny and sincere delivery became our standout favorite — Alfonso Riberio,” executive producer Vin Di Bona told TheWrap. “We look forward to Alfonso leading ‘AFV’ into the next generation of family friendly viewership.”

“America’s Funniest Home Videos” is currently ABC’s longest running show and is set to return for its 16th season in the Fall.

So far, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” has given away over $14 million in prize money and evaluated more than a million video clips from home viewers. The program is seen in 193 territories around the world.
