Dear Tom,
I met Lateshia back in elementary school when she was in the 6th grade. I had a huge crush on her but i thought she was way out of my league because i was just a 4th grader.
We ran into each other six years ago at the daycare where my 2 daughters went! I find out that she is the assistant director overseeing the staff and about 300 or so pre-k kids on a daily basis before and after school.
She’s divorced, I’m divorced – our two daughters know each other from daycare so we start dating. she is the single mother of 4 and her kids keep her busy: her oldest son is 16 & plays basketball, her 14 year old daughter runs track and plays soccer, her 12 year old boy plays baseball and her 10 year old girl does dance and gymnastics.
She is always there for her friends and family whenever they are in need and she takes care of her father who is wheelchair bound as of last year.
Lateshia’s hobby is poetry. She has been writing since the 7th grade. She loves creative writing so much that she started a “youth poetry program” where kids of all ages can express their issues using writing as a creative outlet.
She even organizes poetry readings at book stores and local coffee shops.
I decided to write this letter after she told me that she hasn’t had a massage is 23 years. I think she should treat herself to a spa day – it’s long overdue and lord knows she deserves it.
