A weekend of violence hit the Windy City, as three people were shot near the University of Chicago campus. Thirty other individuals were also involved in separate shootings.

Two men and one woman were hit by gunfire near the Hyde Park campus around 12:30 a.m., the Chicago Tribune reports. The 35 and 24-year-old men were sitting in a parked car with a 22-year-old woman when a gunman unleashed over 10 shots into the car.

The woman is currently in serious condition after she was struck in the abdomen and chest. The men sustained serious injuries after being struck in the chin and legs.

Police officials confirmed the three people were not employees or students of the school.

“The motive for the shooting is unknown and there is no suspect information at this time,” according to the alert sent out by the university.

Fourteen others were also wounded in shootings on Sunday, rounding out the total to 32 people shot over the weekend, with the majority of activity taking place on Friday and Saturday afternoons. Four people were killed and the remaining victims were in the age range of 18 to 29-years-old.

Police determined that at least two of the shootings were linked, while one was a gambling related incident.
