I may be self critical, but I’m equally merciful.
I don’t believe it to be a coincidence that a New Moon fell on Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. In keeping with solstice tradition journeying deep into the trenches of our darkest parts, how convenient for the cosmos to gift us with a New Moon, a symbol of hope for the future. The spring season is now just a few months away, and each day will get longer from here on out; the light of the Sun will shine a little brighter. But until then, we must sit with and embrace the shadow of the night.
The constant, rhythmic, ebb and flow of the Universe never ceases to amaze me. This big space of energy is where perfection happens, and the enormity of it all could never be lost on this Astrologer. Even as I grapple with my own sadness during the holiday season, I’ve got the spiritual wherewithal to know that it too will pass. The heaviness that has ensued due to headlines highlighted on social media as #BlackLivesMatter #SydneySeige and #PeshwarAttack is palpable. But also palpable is a shift in collective awareness that peace and compassion must be restored.
The future is paved with better days. A broader consciousness will soon be made available to all.
