Fayetteville State University is the latest HBCU to receive a federal grant to prevent substance abuse and HIV/AIDS infection on campus.

Fayettville joinins Southern University, North Carolina Central University, Morgan State University and Bowie State University in the fight to curb drug use and unsafe sexual practices among young adults with The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) grant.

HBCU Digest reports:

FSU will collaborate with Community Health Interventions and Sickle Cell Agency, a long-standing, community-based organization on the Murchison Road. The partnership will implement a series of HIV prevention strategies for young adults and will also identify service gaps for young adults who experience substance misuse and/or Hepatitis C infection. FSU students and young adults in the surrounding communities will help guide the project, by providing informative advice at various stages over the next three years.

Congrats to Fayetteville!
