Before he becomes the Black Panther in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, actor Chadwick Boseman will star as a South African man out for vengeance in Message From The King reports Deadline.com.

Belgian’s Fabrice du Welz is directing the revenge thriller about Jacob King, who arrives from South Africa in search of his younger sister with just a few hundred dollars and a plane ticket home in a week’s time. Twenty-four hours in, he learns she’s been killed and the film tells the story of what happens in the next six days.

Boseman is also executive producing Message from the King, which is scripted by Stephen Cornwell and Oliver Butcher for Entertainment One and Ink Factory.

The film is slated to shoot in February in Los Angeles before Boseman heads to the Captain America 3 set.

With a Black Panther standalone film set for 2017 and a five-picture Disney/Marvel deal, Boseman is poised to become a fixture in the $700 billion Avengers franchise. The 37-year-old actor has risen fast in recent years playing larger-than-life personalities – Jackie Robinson in baseball biopic 42 and James Brown in the biopic Get On Up.

He also appeared in Summit’s sports drama Draft Day opposite Kevin Costner and will play the god Thoth in the upcoming 2016 fantasy actioner Gods of Egypt.
