Allstate Senior Vice President of Sourcing & Procurement Solutions Cheryl Harris, called in to talk to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about Quotes For Education Program, an initiative established in 2009 to raise scholarship funds for financially struggling African-American students attending HBCUs.

Allstate’s new program HBC “I Owe” You means that you can donate to your favorite HBCU just by calling Allstate and getting an insurance quote. Each call that is made nets an HBCU $10 so it’s easy to support your favorite.

“We have 41 more days to go,” says Harris.”I’m encouraging everybody to go to allstate.com/hbcu and find a participating agent or get a quote online. And remember, we’re also giving away $50,000 to the school that receives the most number of votes. As of this morning we have Grambling in first place, Southern in second place so with 41 days to go there is still time for other schools to get on the leader board and blow this thing out of the water. I am who I am, where I am and what I do because of my experience at Florida A&M and I want to make sure that more students have the opportunity. While I’m a bit biased for FAMU, I want to make sure our kids have the opportunity not just to go to school, but to stay in school.”
