T.I. is defending his home girl, “Fancy” rapper Iggy Azalea from critics who have issues with her being a white rapper and level of authenticity.

According to HipHollywood, he said she should be judged by her talent only — not for her being Australian or being a white woman.

“It should be attributed to her work ethics, her artistic views … She has a vision for herself and this vision she will not compromise,” he said.

He added, “you know, she has a certain idea of how to present herself, how to platform her art and she won’t compromise it so I think she should be kind of judged based on that rather than her creed, her nationality, what country she from… those are stereotypes.”

T.I. believes artists like Azalea shouldn’t be “boxed” with one genre anyways — explaining that she can be more than just pop or just hip hop with bringing folks together.

He followed by stating that putting people like Iggy in genres like just pop or just hip hop only is not beneficial to the music industry.

”We trying to bring people together and you are trying to meticulously separate us.”
