Jason Derulo recently revealed cheating had nothing to do with the breakup between him and Jordin Sparks — confirming there’s no bad blood.

But their relationship was strained due to ongoing pressure to get married and constant bickering. The fighting led to the breakup, ultimately.

And Derulo got candid about the parting on a radio interview with “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” — since the rumors were “getting out of hand.”

“I’m not one to throw my business out on the street, but I thought it was important because things are getting a little out of hand,” he said.

He added, “what happened… in a nutshell, there was a lot of tension in the relationship for a lot of different reasons… There was a lot of pressures of marriage. There was a lot of arguing and stuff like that that just weighed on our relationship over time.”

He revealed it wasn’t simply pressure to get married on their end. Those around them were pressuring them to tie the knot as well.

“To be fair, it was not just from her either. It was kind of from everybody. That’s not the sole reason, but it definitely played a part. We think it may have weighed on her more than it weighed on me,” he said. “Yeah, she got frustrated a lot. She was in that frustrated space a lot and I think part of that was part of my problem.”

Derulo reiterated there’s no bad blood, but they are recently broken up. Therefore, they aren’t the best of friends right now.

“I wouldn’t say good terms. I’ll be lying if I said that, but it’s not a bad situation. There’s no bad blood. We didn’t end off on a weird way or a negative way. It’s not like we’re hitting each other up, like, ‘Hey, what are you doing today?’”

Ultimately, maybe Derulo shouldn’t make songs like “Marry Me” — having his lady believing they are going to tie the knot anytime soon when that’s not his actual intention.
