Despite apologizing for his offensive social media comments on rape, the damage from CeeLo Green’s tweets continue to be felt by the former coach on “The Voice.”

TMZ reports that Green was dropped from a performance at the Gretna Heritage Festival in Louisiana. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts replaced Green as the headliner for the event on Sunday. Festival organizers, who said the entertainer no longer fits the concert’s “wholesome family environment,” confirmed Green’s release in a statement that also acknowledged the rock group as the new headliner.

The Gretna Heritage Festival isn’t the only event Green has been dropped from. Reports further state the Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley member’s tweets are also the reason behind him being pulled from another headlining gig. The gig in question was for a United States Navy-sponsored concert that was set for Sept. 20 in Washington, D.C., according to reports.

“Unfortunately, one of the performers we signed for the JBAB Freedom Live show on 20 September recently posted comments on social media that we consider to be completely inconsistent with Navy core values,” Freedom LIVE, the concert host, posted on its official Facebook page. “Regardless of intent or context, the lack of sensitivity towards an issue that is one of the great challenges facing our Navy is unacceptable.”

Efforts to reach reps for Green have been unsuccessful at this time. The dropped shows are the latest in a string of bad happenings for the rapper/singer, who pleaded no contest last week to sharing ecstasy with a woman who accused him of slipping something in her drink.

The plea deal allows Green to maintain his innocence.
