Songstress Jennifer Hudson’s (pictured below) half-brother, Steven Simpson (pictured) was allegedly arrested and taken to a Paw Paw, Mich., jail where he faces charges of household invasion and attempted murder, according to TMZ.
Simpson is accused of repeatedly stabbing an unnamed man in the face. The details are sketchy, but the victim could have been romantically involved with Simpson’s estranged wife.
The alleged recent stabbing is not the only violence to happen in Hudson’s family unfortunately. In 2008, Hudson’s 57-year-old mother, Darnell Donerson; her 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson; and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King were murdered by William Balfour (pictured), who was the estranged boyfriend of Hudson’s sister, Julia.
Balfour, whom Hudson had known and never liked since the eighth grade, was handed down a life sentence back in 2012 for the slayings. During the trial, prosecutors surmised that the shootings occurred as a result of a twisted fit of jealousy when on the morning after Julia’s birthday, Balfour became enraged after stopping by the family home and seeing a gift of balloons in the house from her new boyfriend.
