NBA bust Gilbert Arenas, who last played for a Chinese basketball team decided to take to his Instagram today to talk about Rev. Al Sharpton and give his thoughts on the Mike Brown shooting. Predictably, Arenas quickly made a fool of himself, calling Sharpton a “coon” and a “thot’ for heading to St. Louis to assist in the Ferguson, Missouri unrest.

Here’s what Arenas had to say:

“I would like to start off by saying too the family of the victim GOD BLESS#RIPmichealbrown you will be missed: too EVERY African American out there..how dumb are we really???every time we hear some bad news, the first thing we do is #RIOT #ROB #STEAL #BURN sh-t in our OWN neighborhoods..this racism fight has never been #blackvswhite, it’s ALWAYS been #blackvsblack from what the stats.. About 10 riots from the black community over the years and the only thing damaged ,was the BLACK COMMUNITY by The BLACK COMMUNITY..only reason they issue riot police isssss just in case you actually got smart enough to walk 6 blocks ,YALL ain’t f-cking up white rich sh-t smdh”

“FAMILiES of the victims pleaseeeeee stop asking #alsharpton to speak or ur behalf, you have a better chance having #caesar the monkey from #planetoftheapes to get justice for you..the stats also show AL coon sharpton has not helped one situation he has protested at,he actually made it worst and because of him the jury goes the other way..(think about it) Jena six, trayvon and the list goes back way back..#AL ur like a #THOT in the club, lookn for attention what u said at trayvons rally #enoughisenough ur right were tired of u PRETENDING”

  1. Valid point on the violence I agree but what he said about Rev Al was not and it was disrepectful and if he has a problem with Rev Al, there is a way to handle it by talking or going to Sharpton. Gilbert only fell into the hands of folks who want to see blacks go up against each other.

    • IF you really want to know, do your own research. It is easy to look up Rev Al’s achievements in civil rights IF you really want to know it. We have libraries, internet, etc. use it.

  2. Yes, Gilbert gave shoes and money (tax right off) but what kind of WORK is he doing that is stopping violence in the black community since he wants Rev Al to do so much.

  3. One more thing, I find it funny that blacks who degrade Rev Al will often be the same blacks who will call him when they are in trouble. The truth of the matter, whoever takes on the job of doing civil rights work, those people are ALWAYS going to be degraed by many whites (obvious) and some blacks. Even Dr. King experienced this kind of behavior. MY grandmother told me that’s some blacks did not think Dr. King and other should be marching on Washington because they are going there to “start trouble”. Now look, those blacks are celebrating Dr. King and quoting what happen in Washington DC in the 60’s

  4. I get sick of some blacks always trying to tell Rev Al what he needs to do. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? We all have a RESPONSIBILTY stop the violence in our community and everything else. Chicigo is EVERYONE responsibility. I commend Rev Al for what he does. When we had issues in my city, Rev Al was here (and it was not in the national media). When Rev AL does things for black on black issues, tries to deal with the black on black crime issue, etc, no media comes but when it is this kind of crime, the media comes. And Foxnews want blacks to hate Rev Al so bad until they will use any negro who will willing to degrade Rev Al (this is the same network that degrade President Obama for every little thing. go figure). and if I have a problem with anything Rev Al is doing, I will call or write him, NOT trash him in the media who will only love seeing two negros going at it for racist folks to love to see.

Whether we agree with Al Sharpton being there are not, Civil Rights is not and easy task, someone is needed there as a mediator who is experienced and have a cool head, to resolve matters. Those who wants to take his place should go to resolve the problem.

  6. Ok we can all agree that black on black crime and rioting in your own neighborhood isnt smart, but to be so rude and disrespectful to someone who has been in the stuggle and continue to up left and shed light on the injustice of our ppl is just wrong considering the only thing arenas is famous for now is fucking THOT AND having a bunch of ugly ass illegimate kids with that bitch who couldnt even hold her own on basketball wifes, not to mention she aint even a fucking wife her dumb ass got her asskicked and then tried to suck up, I dont think you wanna trade insults back and forth GILBERT. IDIOT

    • I agree. if any injustice come to Gilbert, I bet the same people who is happy he made the comments about Rev AL will be the same people trying to drag him (gilbert) down, and it will be up to people like Rev Al to stand by him if his (Gilbert) rights are taken.

I agree with what he said about Al Sharpton because I and others have been saying the same thing for years. Al Sharpton is a disgrace as a so-called black leader. How could an FBI snitch represent the black community in cases of police killings and brutality? It’s a joke!
When are we going to demand responsibility from the likes of Al Sharpton? Sharpton is right now nothing but a media whore, and we are the ones allowing him to get away with it.

    • Well Tigbert, all of those same kind of comments said about Rev Al were said about Dr. King in his day. And look at Gilbert degrade Rev Al even using a comparison to about apes in a movie. Instead of focusing on the issue, Gilbert is now doing black on black attack. See, always getting off the issue. And at the end of days, many whites do not care about Gilbert or Sharpton. If Gilbert has a problem with Rev Al, Gilbert should be a MAN and go to Rev Al and discuss his agreement and disagreement. And Rev Al had nothing to do with the case lost against Trayvon . if so, that proves even More about racism that exist in this country.

    • Also, that FBI story about Rev AL was not true. Also, what responsibility do we need to demand from Rev AL. The ONLY responsibility we need to demand is OURSELVES as INDIVIDUALS. Rev AL can not do it all. Those killings in Chicago FIRST start with the FAMILIES of GANGS; SECOND, with the people who LIVE THERE; THIRD, the city ELECTED; FOURTH, everyone else who want to help.

  8. I agree with Areanas only about the point of us rioting, looting and destroying our own neighborhoods!

We obviously never learned our lesson from doing this back in the 1960’s as our way of protest.

While it is totally understandable regarding folks frustration and anger concerning the MURDER of Michael Brown, our anger needs to be channelled elsewhere!

If we destroy our own areas over this who really cares?

Whites don’t care because most of them don’t live in our “hoods.” So, who are really hurting –OURSELVES!

When we go to the corner store the next day for a loaf of bread or a qt of milk-won’t be a store because we burnt them all down!

History is repeating itself right before our eyes-we need to pay attention and overcome all of this!!!!!

As for Arenas other comments regarding Mr. Sharpton-excuse me but who was the dumb ass who took several loaded weapons to a basketball game and got into a gun fight with a fellow team-mate and wound up getting kicked to the curb by the NBA?

At least Al Sharpton goes around the country to enlighten us on the UGLINESS spreading in Amerykah–what the f have you done lately??????

  9. Here we go;

There are First Amendment protections for people photographing and recording in public
It is perfectly legal to take photos and videos of police officers everywhere in the United States.
Members of the public are legally allowed to record police interactions
Police can only order somebody to do or not do something based on the law, and there is [no law] that says you can not record or photograph out in public.
When congress comes back I will be submitting legislative ideas to my Congressman and Senator on how ‘the black community’ can create the ‘balance’ [in check and balances] with the police. This nonsense needs to stop. Right Now. I’ve done it before and will do it again.

  10. It NEVER fails!

I can’t even imagine somebody who takes a stance on behalf of black people’s RIGHTS, being citicized li sake Al Sharpton. Tom Joyner and me are about the age, and we know betta to do some of the things we see being done today. Namely-challenging the ARMED police on the spot. That’s not what you do. As you can readily see-these people will kill you.Parents please sit your children down and tell them THIS! But back to my point. There is always somebody [one of us] that will try to shoot down a good idea one of us may have. Well in my very next post – tell me if this is worthy.

All of you Oreo’s that agree with Arena’s why don’t you all get together and commit a mass suicide so us real black people can get something done. Arena’s was convicted on a gun charge he’s part of the problem. When a black person civil rights are violated or a black person is wrongfully killed people like Arena’s sit on their a** and watch the TV. Mr. Sharpton actually gets out there to defend the black life and then bit*hes like Arena’s pop up and talk about Sharpton. Arena’s is white on the inside and black on the outside, like I said everyone that agrees with him please do black people a favor and all of you get together and kill yourself.

    • Exactly. And Rev Al risk his LIFE to do the work. What does Gilbert and others do? Rev AL is doing more than what I should be doing so I am NOT going to degrade him.

Gilbert Arenas is an FOOL and a IDIOT, leave the crack and booze alone dude. P.S. Not all Black people want to be called African American. Why not call White Africans, African Americans as well.

    • Well Carmen, not all AA want to be called black either because the word “black” has such a negative meaning (aka, black cat, black magic, bad men wear black, etc and even black people). At the end of the day, regardless if you call yourself black, AA, etc, none of us are going to be treated any better. If a person from Africa comes here, he/she will be treated just like American born blacks/AA.

I agree with Arenas, especially about the rioting in your own neighborhood. Another thing, marches are no longer effective in achieving what they once did as establishment finds a way around it. (I’m thinking about the police killing of Amadou Diallo in New York where the the marches got the message out, but also gave Giuliani a reason to have the trial moved to another town, In Florida with Trayvon the judge made sure his accuser had an all white jury – so much for those marches.) We need new tactics.

      • koldiz on said:

Actually there were at least two black or Hispanics on that jury, one even came forward after the trial

I guess he will be on FOX News next with Bill O’Reilly, these are the kind of folks they like to put on air! By the way Gilbert The Rev has never gone to solve the issues but to create awareness and to keep the spotlight on these injustices, I don’t see you stepping up to correct injustices to all people of color. You need to understand the struggle from the past to now!

    • Foxnews already had some pastor on the show who was degrading Rev Al. Typical. If he was a real pastor, would go to his brother in Christ (Rev Al) and discuss the issue, not be on Foxnews.

      • And Koldiz, that is more reason to be on the watch. There is nothing fair and balance about Foxnews. They know how to word hate talk as if they are fair when in fact they are the opposite. They are good at “throwing rocks to hide their hands”.
