Rev. Al Sharpton talks about the connection of law enforcement and race, since the increase of police brutality against African Americans, most recently the dismissal of two Florida police officers who were found to be active members of the Klu Klux Klan.

“We need the federal government all over the country to set up vetting operations. We need to know what type of beliefs and ideologies, that these people we are paying to protect us, have.” Sharpton says.

  1. At least they were dismissed. That wouldn’t have happened in the 50’s and 60’s. But Al “The Perm” Sharpton is absolutely correct. We really do need to know the mindset and ideologies of the people charged with protecting us. But that goes for all of them, not just the white ones. I’ve been frightened more than once by the treatment of black cops. It was more insidious than a public beating. It was sexual harassment and intimidation. At the end of the day, no one race is superior to another when it comes to bullshit. They all suck.

Please dont be deceived into thinking this is an anolomy, or a one off as some might think. there are many police offcers who are involved in, or sympathize with their feelings. In 1963, James (Goodwon, Andrew (Goodman) and Michael (Shwerner) were actually arrested by the police. How they were then handed off to the KKK and killed a few hours later underscores the connection between hate groups and law enforcement. Yes, that was years ago, but the mindset and mentality still exists.
