Raven-Symone briefly addressed her tweet about gay marriage on Keke Palmer‘s new talk show this week!

Many thought the actress was coming out about her sexuality last year when she tweeted, “I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you.” The message was in response to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the Defense of Marrriage Act that prevented same-sex couples form tying the knot.

Keke wanted to know once and for all whether Raven was digitally waving her pride flag because she’s a lesbian or whether it was just a sign of solidarity.

“I’ll just say I love my LGBT community and I’m part of them for always,” Raven said before implying that the tweet was not a comment on her personal sexuality. Rather it was just political statement. “Girl, I sent it because people are raising stupid laws. Period.”

More recently Raven made waves when she debuted a colorful new look on Instagram after she dyed her hair purple with highlights from all over the rainbow. She explained that her new look was met with a little coroporate opposition, but she wasn’t going to let business determine her self-expression.

“You have to be confident in who you are no matter what your team, background noise or front-ground noise makes. You have to stay strong,” Raven encouraged.

“It’s hard because people want to continue the brand, continue the look that they created to–I’m being honest–they want continue that look that made them money for so long,” she continued. “Sometimes it doesn’t always coincide with who you are as a person.”
