Looks like Paul George has changed his tune in regards to stepping up to care for the love child he had with a stripper.

The New York Daily News reports the Indiana Pacers star is alleging that his NBA lifestyle of traveling (including in the off-season) would make him incapable of caring for a child in any capacity.

“Respondent is not capable of care of the child as the child’s custodial parent due to, among other things, his professional obligations, his lifestyle and his residency away from the child,” a recently unsealed petition stated. “Respondent, who is an all-star professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association, is in a travel status during the season and during the off-season.”

George’s change of heart is the latest development surrounding the athlete, who was slapped with a child support lawsuit by the mother of his child, Daniela Rajic, May 24. According to the 24-year-old stripper, a private paternity test confirmed that George is the father of her baby, who was born on May 1.

Rajic claims in the suit that she and George slept together on several occasions in August 2013 while out in Miami where she worked as an exotic dancer. Before using the NBA lifestyle defense, George stated through his legal team that if the child were proven to be his, he would embrace his duties as a father.

A recently unsealed petition reads quite the opposite reading, “Respondent is not capable of care of the child as the child’s custodial parent due to, among other things, his professional obligations, his lifestyle and his residency away from the child. Respondent, who is an all-star professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association, is in a travel status during the season and during the off-season.”
