Usually fans chase entertainers because they are … well … fans! But reports of Rick Ross being chased out of a Summer Jamz concert by a mob of more than 100 people are the exact opposite.

But Ross himself confirmed these reports are rumors that aren’t true!

He said the gate to the entrance of the facility was locked. But get this… it was a concert he was supposed to headline! Talk about tough luck.

But over in rumor land, some believed the chase might have had something to do with tension between Ross and the city of Detroit.

And rumor was due to a song by Trick Trick called “No Fly Zone,” which lyrics said any artist who doesn’t collaborate with artists from Detroit will be banned.

Allegedly, Hot 97′s program director Jay Hicks explained to the crowd why Ross wasn’t performing.

“I’m going to be real with y’all; I’m going to be real as fuck. We had Rick Ross right outside here tonight,” Hicks said. “At about 11 o’clock, when he was pulling up to come into Chene Park, he was met by 100 individuals outside. We have tried to pull every resource together and asked him to come back. He is in fear of his life.”

And he added, Ross might not ever come back to the city… ever! “And he may never come back to Detroit, and that’s no bullshit,” Hicks said. “This is some real shit. He was in fear of his life and he is not performing here tonight.”

Ross vaguely responded to the incident via social media, of course.

“Luv #Detroit I wuz ready to killm 2nite, heard it wuz a peace protest wit picket signs and locked gates haa,” he tweeted.

His latest response is little more clearer as to what happened… or didn’t happened.

“Somebody is deceiving the people of Detroit like Kwame Kilpatrick did,” he said.

Ross laughed off the rumor he was in fear of his life because of an angry mob. That mob simply never existed.
