A second biopic about the late Tupac Shakur is in the works, to be developed by the rapper’s cousin.
Director John Singleton is already in production on one with the blessing of Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. Now the rapper’s cousin, William Lesane, reveals he’s planning to turn his script for The Rise And Fall Of Makavelli The Don into a feature film, reports WENN. Lesane has raised $15 million for the project and plans to shoot it in New Mexico.
“The time has come to tell the real Tupac Shakur story, the movie his fans really want to see,” he says. “Any movie that is produced about Tupac has to tell a truly great story with a bold statement attached. Our movie does that in spades… I lived this story with my cousin and paid tremendously for it.”
Shakur was shot and killed in 1996. His murder has never been solved.
