“He cocked the pistol and in the process, according to him, the pistol went off,” Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer,”said. “know, it’s just a very tragic thing. The man killed his own son. It just doesn’t get much worse than that.”
As officers spoke to folks who know Adams, no one said anything disparaging about the father. He has never been in trouble with law and is a good upstanding citizen who is held in high regard by his surrounding community. According to Stringer, the Adams case is still ongoing telling Call News, “We’ll learn more as time progresses. Of course, we will try to determine what caused this boy to become so irate and act the way he acted when his father shot him.”
Meanwhile, Stringer met with the Washington County District Attorney and the case is currently being weighed as to whether it will be presented to a grand jury.
