We are sad to report that Rubin “Hurricane” Carter has died in Toronto at the age of 76. Carter was an awesome professional boxer who was falsely convicted for a triple homicide and spent 19 years in jail as a result. Because of this, he became a staunch advocate for wrongly convicted inmates and was the main focus of the movie “The Hurricane” which led to a Denzel Washington Oscar Award nomination.
