With all the tawdry stories about current and former NFL players doing dirt, its refreshing to hear about one of the good guys. Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael made headlines this week for all the right reasons. The 23-year-old Texas native took high school student Taylor Kirkwood to her senior prom. The 18-year-old is autistic and her speech is limited. A few years ago, she had surgery for scoliosis.

Still, her classmates at Anahuac High School in Houston nominated her for Homecoming Queen because of all the work she’s done to overcome her limitations.

“I’m just here for Taylor,” Michael told  Click2Houston.com. “It’s a blessing. Like I said, she’s a beautiful kid. I’m very proud of her.”

Her mother, and presumably Taylor,  who danced and took photos with Michael, were ecstatic about the generous gesture from the NFL star.

“I’m totally over the moon about everything,” Kirkwood’s mom told the outlet. “I’m ecstatic. It’s been like a fairy tale.”
