According to People Magazine, Beyoncé’s surprise album has “forever changed the release game”. The popular magazine who is known for their infamous lists, have named Blue Ivy’s mama the most important person in music right now.

Coming off a successful 132 show tour that began on April 2013 and wrapped in April 2014, hit records like “Drunk in Love” and “XO” and a visual album, it’s hard to deny that Mrs. Carter is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. Let’s not forget how much she’s stepped up her social media game, releasing behind the scenes looks of “The Mrs. Carter Show World” tour, private moments with her husband and daughter and 15 second videos of her time spent off stage to more than 11 million of her followers on Instagram.

The latest issue of People, including the full list of “The 5 Most Important People in Music Right Now” is on stands now.

Do you agree with the magazine? Who’s the most important person in music to you right now? Why?

  1. You hit it nail on the head. Pharrell, Robin and others had monsterous hits but the “media” wh@ gets the title???? The day her stans help her move 10mil with a GREAT CD and NO GIMMICKS I’ll be impressed!!! You’re welcome Adele and Usher…..

  2. Why are people so hateful toward Bey?? She may not be The Best singer, but she CAN sing and she puts on a great concert (very energizing). Personally I like Anita Baker and Teena Marie, but they’re considered “ol school” now. But back to Beyonce, she’s good at what she does and she’s not half as bad as the people that commented before me said she was.

    • Sharon it’s called overexposure backfiring and people are just tired of more talented artists getting ignored. Imagine Dragons and Kendrik Lamar brought the house down but what did black media say “Beyonce was soooooo great….WHAT???” I saw a sexed up pointless tired performance (and apparently Al Roker agreed)! I jam the best of Anita, Tina and Stevie all the time so GREAT minds think alike! hahaha

      • Hi Tina, I agree with what you said about over exposure. I certainly can get with that because every time you look around, Beyonce’s name, picture, comment, etc is on or in something and I can see where people would get tired of it. Especially when there are people who are as talented or even more talented than Bey. Like I said though, she’s not my favorite, but she is talented and on top of that she’s pretty, (fake hair and all) she has a decent body, and the media seems to love her. (At least for now) Give her a few more years and someone else will be the “IT” girl or guy.🙂

who cares about his self-serving halfbreed Mulatress who dyed her hair blond in order to look as White as possible in order to look like Massa’s halfbreed plantation daughter. Money is not everything , dignity and self respect is worth more. To Hell with these sell outs.

That shows you how dumb and stupid People Magazine is. To think let alone speak it, that this thang could possibly be important to REAL music, is an insult to REAL music afficionados!!!! This thang CAN”T sing her way out of a wet paper bag with holes in it!!!!!!

    • I agree. I am a music fanatic and I have never heard anything done by Bouncy that I would spend a nickel on. I think this magazine is basing it’s decision on marketing and money making, not actual musical talent.

Kay, It’s wonderful to know that there are still people out here who know and appreciate REAL music, and wouldn’t dream of accepting the media’s dreadful promotion of anything less. It’s wonderful to know that there are people out here who have a BRAIN and know how to use it and think for themselves!!!!!!!
