There’s a fast food brawl going on and I’ve got to say, it’s fantastic. McDonald’s and Taco Bell officially have beef and we’re not talking about what they’re slinging from their fast food restaurants. It all started when Taco Bell announced that they’d be serving breakfast. Waffle taco anyone (warm waffle wrapped around sausage patty or bacon with eggs, cheese and syrup)? Yeah, I don’t want it either.

Taco Bell decided to promote this new venture into the $50 billion fast food breakfast market by putting out a commercial that threw all the shade in the world towards McDonald’s–the apparent fast food breakfast giant.

In the commercial, you see 25 men–all named Ronald McDonald (also the name of McDonald’s technicolor mascot) claiming that they love Taco Bell’s new breakfast. Oooh the shade! McDonald’s took to Twitter to let everyone know that Ronald still prefers McDonald’s:

And then McDonald’s also let Taco Bell know how flattered they are by the imitation (peep the link to their breakfast menu):

Taco Bell’s 14 breakfast offerings rolled out on March 27. And while I’m not rushing out to get my hands on either a Taco Bell nor McDonald’s breakfast, it has been entertaining to watch the drama unfold. McDonald’s is a breakfast leader–boasting almost 25 percent of the market share. So in all honesty, there is room for McDonald’s to allow another fast food to handle our first meal of the day. Also, Taco Bell is offering Mexican-like choices for breakfast, like the A.M. Crunchwrap and Waffle Taco.

Taco Bell’s tactic to come for McDonald’s with their commercial was genius. Now we’re all talking about Taco Bell breakfast and frankly, many of us are curious. What does a waffle taste like as a taco?

But I get it–McDonald’s be like:
