  • Darius Rucker has been tapped to perform the national anthem before Monday’s NCAA Championship game, and he’s getting a huge vocal assist.

The award-winning country singer-songwriter will be accompanied by the Jazz Singers vocal ensemble from Booker T. Washington High School for the Performance and Visual Arts in Dallas.

Chris Daughtry will perform before Saturday’s games, backed by the Fort McHenry drum and fife corps in celebration of the 200th anniversary of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Rucker first broke into the mainstream music scene in the mid-1990s as the frontman of the band Hootie & The Blowfish. He released his third country album last year.
