An off-duty Florida sheriff’s deputy shot a man he caught having sex with a woman in the pool of a Boca Raton apartment complex Saturday.

The Raw Story reports:

An off-duty Florida deputy shot a man after breaking up his late-night tryst in an apartment complex swimming pool. The deputy, whose name has not been released, went to the pool at Reflections of Boca Del Mar, where he lives, about 12:20 a.m. Saturday.

There he found a man and woman engaging in a sex act, reported the Sun Sentinel, and he told them he was a deputy and asked them to leave.

The couple, who didn’t live at the West Boca apartment complex, reluctantly followed the deputy’s instructions, authorities said.

The deputy sat down in a poolside lounge chair, and the couple returned a short time later.

The man, identified as 49-year-old Tony Ribeiro, “hovered over (the deputy) in a threatening manner” and the two began arguing, said a spokeswoman for the Palm Beach sheriff’s office.

Ribeiro raised what investigators have described as either a wine glass or empty Champagne bottle, and the deputy shot him.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and remains listed in critical condition.

The deputy was placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.

The pool incident wasn’t that serious. Why did the officer stay after they left. I suppose it’s because he sensed they would return. When they did he was already incensed. The badge and the gun gave him the courage and the perfect excuse that will go unquestioned.

    • He lived there. They didn’t. Their nasty asses should have rented a motel room. Who the hell goes to an apartment complex swimming where they don’t live to f**k in the pool? Broke gross asses should have stayed gone.

Nasty, or not, life can not be taken lightly. If it were being judged by a righteous judge, their being nasty wouldn’t justify the guy being shot.

Really? because a police officer says something, it automatically is truth? I don’t believe anything police write in their reports, they lie and make up face actions, so they can wrongfully charge black people and other people of color.

I am also curious to know the race of the person this police officer killed.

Let me give you an example of what happens more often than not, when the camera isn’t recording these racist white cops.

After Zimmerman the maggot, people in Florida especially white people believe its open season to kill, especially black people, This stand your ground act must go.

    • I agree with you in that the SYG laws should be repealed; however, SYG does not apply in this situation because it involves a law enforcement officer. The “reasonable officer” standard clearly applies in this instance. Again, using the limited information that was provided in the article, the officer was justified in his actions.

    • Whistler on said:

Stephanie, the whole reason SYG laws exist is BECAUSE OF BLACKS ATTACKING WHITES. Whites are fed up with blacks behaving as if it is open season on them, be it in the form of murder, or rape, or flash mobs (which black males account for the majority of despite being less than 10% of the population). Black people don’t like stand your ground because blacks in this country hate whites, and want to be able to victimize whites without facing the rammifications such acts deserve. Blacks enjoy raping white women, knocking out white men, and stealing what they own. But since blacks are never responsible for anything and its all mean ole’ whitites fault, can’t have whites defending themselves can we?

If blacks don’t want to get shot by racist white people, blacks shouldn’t be attacking white people.

  5. Whether people like it or not and considering the limited information provided in this article, the officer was justified in his actions. The glass or the bottle was a viable threat to the officer in that it could have caused death or serious bodily injury; therefore, he was legally authorized to use deadly force to protect his life.
