Dear Deya,

I have one simple question for you and your female audience: Do women really want to know what men think and how they really feel?  -MG

MG,

I have one simple answer for you: NO! Just kidding! But of course there’s a little truth there too. You may not know this, but for years I’ve been conducting interviews with men titled “From the Minds of Men”. In this series I have learned so much including the following:

• If women really want to know what men think, ask them and then listen. I love my girlfriends, but they are not experts on men. It makes more sense to go to the source for answers – MEN.

• If a man is going to be honest with a woman, she has to create a safe atmosphere for him to speak his truth, not one that’s hostile, accusatory and judgmental. Under those circumstances, he will do everything in his power to avoid conflict. So she needs to figure out how to make it easy. I have more tips on things women can do so hit me up if you want more info.

• If a man, or for that matter a woman, feels like their words are going to be thrown back in their face or used against them, they are less likely to tell their partner the truth again. So, MG, the answer is yes and no. Yes, a woman wants to know the truth. But she needs to be prepared to hear some things that she may not like. She needs to listen and seek understanding without judgment or a quick reaction, that is, if she wants to stay in that relationship and desires for her man to continue to open up to her. If she’s not ready for that, then NO, that woman is not ready to hear the truth.

Chime in: What do you think? Do women really want men to tell them the truth?
