Singer Charlie Wilson is a legendary talent in the R&B world. ince he’s been in the game for more than thirty years, he’s earned the respect and trust of some of today’s biggest artists like Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, and Kanye West. In a recent interview, Charlie Wilson revealed he actually treats younger celebrities like his nieces and nephews and will check them when need be, especially Kanye West.
When Uncle Charlie was asked about his relationship with Kanye and what he thinks of Kanye’s behavior, Wilson said he isn’t one of Kanye’s yes men and will tell him when he’s wrong.
“I’m not patting him on his back. When he does something wrong, I’m the first one to tell him that he’s wrong, sit down and be quiet. I don’t care if you don’t like it or not. I don’t embrace some of the things that he does, and some of the stuff he does, I do embrace, which is music. He’s good at that. Sometimes it gets a little out of hand, and sometimes he just says, ‘I’m gonna do this kind of music just to inspire people.’ Okay then say that,” the legendary crooner said.
Charlie Wilson built his relationship with Kanye West when the two began collaborating on music together a few years ago. Wilson appeared on several songs on West’s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” and the fan favorite “Bound 2″ from his latest album “Yeezus.”
If Uncle Charlie is giving Kanye all of this sound advice for free, why isn’t Kanye listening?
