D.L. Hughley took time on his show to honor Cayden Taipalus, an 8-year-old boy who’s raised over $27K to help his fellow students enjoy a hot lunch in the cafeteria.

When a fellow student at Challenger Elementary School in Michigan received a sandwich instead of a hot meal, because he didn’t have enough money his school account for a hot meal, Cayden, who is a third-grader, launched a fundraising campaign called Pay It Forward: No Kid Goes Hungry to help pay for lunches for students who don’t have enough money in their accounts.

Cayden’s mother, Amber Melke-Peters, said that in addition to paying off balances, her son is adding extra money to each account to help prevent future negative balances.

It is not the school system’s responsibility to feed our kids! WTH is wrong with people? This idiot was offered a ‘free’ sandwich and turned his nose up at it– he must not have been too hungry!!

  3. If only there were more people like this little child, this world would be so much better. His blessings will over take him. God will not forget

We would be even more broke ($17 trillion deficit)! Why didn’t his loving ‘black queen’ of a mother, pack him a lunch or give him an appropriate amount of money for lunch??
