She may have stole the show at this year’s Oscars, but there is one person who just doesn’t care for Lupita Nyong’o or her message of loving the skin you’re in.

Nigerian pop singer Dencia is seeing red over Nyong’o ever since the actress’ guest appearance at the Essence Women in Hollywood luncheon.

While speaking on her journey to accepting her dark complexion Nyong’o mentioned helping a young female fan reconsider buying a skin bleaching cream called Whitenicious.

Nyong’o shared that the fan wrote her a letter, which the Oscar winner read.

“‘Dear Lupita,’ the letter said. ‘I think you’re really lucky to be this Black but yet this successful in Hollywood overnight. I was just about to buy Dencia’s Whitenicious cream to lighten my skin when you appeared on the world map and saved me.

“My heart bled a little when I read those words,” Nyong’o added. “And so I hope that my presence on your screens and in the magazines may lead you, young girl, on a similar journey. That you will feel the validation of your external beauty but also get to the deeper business of being beautiful inside. There is no shame in black beauty.”

Not a big deal, right? You could say that it’s a bit inspiring. The only thing is… Dencia makes Whitenicious. And that’s where the beef comes in.

Nyong’o’s appearance at the Essence luncheon was met with a vicious Twitter response from Dencia, who tweeted, “A girl writer u a letter?lol thru which email when I just checked ur twitter n can’t see an email address!!lr pr tried n thanks 4 the Pub.”

Dencia further went in on the actress with other disrespectful comments to go with claims that Nyong’o is a product owned by white people.

As it stands now, Nyong’o hasn’t responded to Dencia and hopefully she won’t.
