Mary Mary is still alive and well, but one half of the sibling duo, Erica Campbell,  has taken a step on her own after a challenging year. Her solo release Help is coming out in March, and the singles “A Little More Jesus” and “Help” are already out.

“The song was birthed out of a really crazy year last year,” Campbell told the James Fortune show. “I realized that the only thing that would help me through was the help of God. The Word says God is our very present help in times of trouble. Trouble was very present and I needed help to be very present.”

Some of the trouble Campbell is referring to is her beloved father’s death last year, as well as her sister Tina admitting that her husband had been unfaithful. On the Tom Joyner Morning Show, Campell assured her fans that despite the solo project, Mary Mary is still together, just on hiatus.

“Yes, Mary Mary has taken a break, but we’re not broken up,” Campbell told the Tom Joyner Morning Show. “We’re just not doing any records right now.”

Erica says that she’s looking forward to performing on the 2014 Fantastic Voyage starting on March 16. But although she’s preparing her cruise wardrobe, she doesn’t think she’ll be wearing the controversial white outfit that offended many of her Christian fans late last year.

“I got my outfit because I know onboard you gotta dress crazy. But that’s not the one I was planning,” Campbell laughs. She will be performing with BET host Dr. Bobby Jones.

“I’m very excited about coming and I’m so honored you guys would invite me. Everyone is not very receptive to the solo thing and I’m super excited about standing on my own two feet and just being me.”

Campbell and her sister may not be making music together right now, but they are still doing their self-titled reality show WEtv. The show’s third season premieres on Thursday, February 27th at 9 p.m.
