Dear Tom,
My grandmother is an amazing woman who is full of love & wisdom and a nonstop supply of hugs and kisses. She is just 62 and works at a Daycare/Learning Center. She just loves kids…her house was the house that all the kids went to after school to hangout until the parents came home.
She raised 3 sons and a daughter who are all grown up. Together, they have blessed her with 7 grandchildren. I am only 20 years old and she always worrying about me – especially after I became a volunteer firefighter – something I plan on pursuing as a career once I finish college.
My grandmother has made so many sacrifices for so many people but herself. And it’s only a matter of time before she will have to quit working due to severe arthritis in both of her knees. I know she is in constant pain but she has a smile for everyone she meets.
I try to help her financially and I take her wherever she needs to go. Before I started doing that, I never knew that a person could an entire day at a Wal-Mart Superstore. She likes it because it’s a one-stop shop.
