Just because you decided to commit to a monthly contract doesn’t mean you have to know all the answers. The sign of a good gym experience is good customer service. Most facilities have trainers and experienced staff members available to answer any questions you may have, so don’t be afraid to ask away. Everybody has to start somewhere and acting all shy in the gym can lead to incorrect usage of the equipment, or worse, injuries. So save your pride for another day and ask any questions you may have.

Be The Head Of The Class

The most common mistake male gym members make is skipping group fitness classes. They often think these spaces are reserved for women and therefore end up bypassing the fitness studio for the weight room. Well, as a current fitness instructor with almost 10 years under my belt, I am here to tell you guys that you are missing out. The majority of group fitness classes today are not the choreographed step aerobic jump-offs your mother took back in the 80’s. With boot camp and HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) formats stealing the stage, fellas you are guaranteed to get a better burn than you could ever imagine. Just take one class and I promise you’ll be back for more!
