After Oprah and Lupita Nyong’o’s critically acclaimed performances  in “The Butler” and “12 Years A Slave,” respectively, we know we’ll be seeing their faces across screens everywhere. But, it looks like the fashion gods are paying attention too. W Magazine released their February issues this week and two fabulous brown beauties are looking back at us on the cover (two out of six covers to choose from!): Oprah Winfrey and our favorite star of the moment, Lupita Nyong’o. This is Lupita’s first major magazine cover and Oprah’s first W magazine cover .

The stylish covers follow the dynamic women’s appearance amongst other major actresses on “The Hollywood Reporter” December cover and Lupita’s first Vogue fashion spread in its January issue. The Yale School of Drama graduate also served mahogany glow realness on the 2013 winter edition of DuJour Magazine. Considering how easy it is for fashion mags to label someone an “it girl,” we’re happy Lupita’s “it” factor (and the Lanvin threads that come along with it) is giving her all the spotlight.

It should also be noted that all six covers were styled by W’s venerable (and British-Ghanaian) fashion director, Edward Enninful, who also styled the historic “All Black Models” Italian Vogue issue in ’08. He was pretty excited about working with Mama O for this month’s issue and swagging her out in a stunning orange Carolina Herrera number. Check out his post on Instagram (and follow him immediately if you don’t already):

Here, here. A toast for this year…may the fashion gods let us be great! ***clink clink clink***
