  • The shortest day of the year was on Saturday, December 21st, and with 2014 just around the corner, a shift towards longer days and shorter nights has commenced. This is what makes the Winter Solstice so symbolic in cultures around the world; it represents a turning point when we reflect on our past in order to prepare for our future. During this time, we give ourselves the chance to start anew. But not without first recognizing how far we’ve come and what we’ve learned from prior experiences. It’s no wonder the holiday season can be a time of joyful family gatherings mixed with feelings of melancholy. Our accomplishments seem minuscule as we ponder how life could be so much more. It would be good, then, to use this period to ascertain where we got off track. An understanding of what must happen next in order to stay the course will soon become clear, and we couldn’t have better stars to begin the process than the Sun (along with retrograde Venus, and Pluto) in the sign of Capricorn the Goat.

Capricorn’s are known for their somberness and disciplined approach to life. But they are also extremely passionate and risk taking (calculated risks, of course!). Believe it or not, Capricorns play the game of life more intently than most. That’s why the mood this time of year can be somewhat dim, but then crescendos to a more optimistic outlook that opens up a new year-long cycle. You’ll notice that there’s always increased commitment to any intentions set in an attempt to build structures that will help us solidify new goals, habits and routines. This is Capricorn in a nutshell – a sign that works hard to properly manage the affairs of his or her life for the long term. For all this sign’s caution, there’s an innate desire to create only that which endures. Keep this in mind over the holidays, then, especially with regards to those close family ties that bind, and support us along our path in the New Year.

Check your horoscopes below for this week, and be sure to read for your Ascendant sign as well.

On the day you were born, all of the planets were positioned in the signs of the Zodiac – not just the Sun. To find out more about your full astrological make up, email Tracey for a personal Astrology reading at tracey@randomnessofrudy.com.

Aries: It may be the holiday season Aries, but your mind is focused on your career. Now is the time to put together your resume and portfolio, and schedule appointments with VIPs and others in authority that could help with your professional agenda. Of course, you can’t do this without a strategy, so use this time to plan. Keep in mind that this will require some collaboration on your part. But lucky for you, your ideas are so innovative that others will be excited to follow your lead. Your 2014 Forecast Reading serves as a kick start to your year ahead! Taurus: You’re beginning to see the big picture Taurus, and you like it! However, there may be some kinks you need to work out, and you’ve got plenty of time to make the necessary changes (through January 31st to be exact). As you plot and plan, you may notice that your calendar fills with meetings and other responsibilities. This is all fine and well, just be sure to pace yourself and focus on your health, too. Finally, sneak in at least 7hrs of sleep; your dreams will add to your vision. Your 2014 Forecast Reading serves as a kick start to your year ahead! Gemini: Intimacy with others is much more enhanced this week (summoning your horoscope from last week!). There’s focus on your partner at this time, and some of you may become engaged this Christmas. On the other hand, many of you may be working on a creative project. If you’re looking for funding, you have plenty of options, one in particular that could be found from an alliance you least expected. An important opportunity may come your way, changing the course of your life. Your 2014 Forecast Reading serves as a kick start to your year ahead! Cancer: Partners and significant others take on more of your attention this week. You won’t mind it so much, but there may be times when you question your association. In fact, all of your relationships are up for review. It would behoove you to use this time wisely, Cancer, as the decisions you make will affect your career (if it is a business connection) as well as your family. Ultimately, what needs to happen should be in your best interest; adjustments will be necessary. Your 2014 Forecast Reading serves as a kick start to your year ahead! Leo: Like your fire bro Aries, you too will be focused on daily chores this week. The emphasis won’t necessarily be on your career, but more so how you manage your day-to-day responsibilities in order to support professional endeavors. This boils down to your overall well being. Not only do you need to be organized, fit and restful, but you also need to strengthen your spiritual base for motivation. It’s all inclusive, Leo! Communication also plays a role; proper juggling is called for. Your 2014 Forecast Reading serves as a kick start to your year ahead! This reading can be done in person or over the phone.
