  • The man partly responsible for the rescue of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight, and Berry’s 6-year-old daughter from captivity has signed a book deal.

Charles Ramsey busted open the door of Ariel Castro to free Berry which lead to her and the other victims’ freedom on May 6, 2013.

Ramsey is co-writing the book with Randy Nyerges, a former U.S. Senate staff writer.

Nyerges told The Plain Dealer people will be interested in what Ramsey has to say, explaining, “Charles says outrageous things, but what a story he has…America doesn’t know yet how truly brilliant this guy is.”

The book will detail the day of the rescue but it will also reveal Ramsey’s life before that infamous day; including, his three stints in prison, his upbringing in a predominately white neighborhood, and the various jobs he has had over the years to provide for his family.

It will be published in Spring 2014.

Will you be purchasing Ramsey’s book?
