Meagan Good may not always look like a card-carrying Christian (but what does that really look like?) but she is, even marrying a pastor, Devon Franklin, last year. As one of the faces of modern Christianity, Good is a celebrity representative for the NIV Live: A Bible Experience, an audio version of the The Bible.

But Good has received her fair share of criticism for her career roles and her wardrobe, which has ranged from leggings and motorcycle boots to a slit-to-there blue gown that she wore to the BET Awards with her husband earlier this year. Good says she takes the criticism in stride.

“At the end of the day, I’m just a full believer that you have to check with God, know what your personal convictions are and know the Word of God. People are going to judge,” Good told the Tom Joyner Morning Show. But J. Anthony Brown, along with the church mothers in the nation, isn’t quite convinced that God is the one leading Good to wear some of her red carpet choices.

“Don’t get me wrong, I like them but…” Brown says.

“There’s one of the church mothers right there,” Sybil quipped.

Good has a different take on it, as you might expect.

“In my personal heart, I’m not conflicted about being comfortable with myself and comfortable with my sexuality,” Good says. “The same way that someone might look at a role and say ‘If you’re married, how are you kissing someone in a movie?’ I personally don’t have a problem with it.”

Good is proud to be a part of A Bible Experience. She plays Eve and Nick Cannon plays Adam in this latest version, with Blair Underwood as Jesus.

“There are a lot of great people involved and its nondenominational, so it’s for everybody as a Christian. I feel like everybody should have this. It’s dope, though. It’s a legit way to learn the Bible.”
