SAY WHAT? Racing Pigeons Drugged with Cocaine and Painkillers

According to the BBC, Belgian racing pigeons have tested positive for drugs.
The site reports that the Belgian pigeon-racing federation sent samples from 20 pigeons to the National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa.
The results revealed that six of the birds tested positive for various drugs including cocaine and pain killers.
The drugs are thought to increase the pigeons’ performance. Pigeon racing is a very popular and lucrative sport in Belgium.
