    7. Andre Walker doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He may be Oprah’s stylist, but he is not in touch (obviously) with real naturalistas. We DON’T have to wash our hair 3-4x per week (unless we want to!). Natural is easier than relaxed, unless you enjoy sitting in a salon for 3+ hours, only to have your style sweat out asa you work out, etc., What other culture consistently alters their hair to the detriment of their health and self-esteem? The youngins have figured it out. Visit any college campus. Natural is the way to go! Check out curlynikkiDOTcom if you really want to know what it is to be natural. Andre GET A CLUE!

      • After reading your comment I know you are not natural, and if you are…your hair is no longer than 5 to 10 inches.

        This is why…
If you are of African descent, your genetics originated from an area where it is HOT 24hrs-a-day, 7 days-a-week.
MEANING…while living in this climate, you would have been SWEATING 24hrs-a-day, 7 days-a-week.
Obviously, your hair would have been WET 24hrs-a-day, 7 days-a-week.

HENCE, the TEXTURE for your hair (coily/curly), a texture that easily RESISTS WATER & DRIES QUICKLY!
You have the DRIEST hair on the PLANET and it is meant to be that way because you are supposed to be SWEATING 24hrs-a-day, 7 days-a-week!

Keep in mind, coily/curly hair is the equivalent to a SLINKY.
Unlike straight hair; coily hair needs ASSISTANCE when attempting to move the OILS from the SCALP to the ENDS.
That assistance is WATER/SWEAT…if you put a drop of OIL at the top of a SLINKY how long/how easy do you think it would be for the oil to reach the end?
Now, add water and see how easily the oil moves.
(That is why most black women’s hair ALWAYS looks shiny/healthy at the ROOTS & NEVER at the ENDS.)

Reality is…black women should be washing their hair EVERYDAY with CONDITIONER ONLY.
        NEVER rinse the conditioner out.
NEVER use SOAP on your hair (your hair is already NATURALLY DRY).
The conditioner is the replacement of the OILS that should be reaching the ends of your hair if you were SWEATING 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Just like any other race on the planet…EVERYDAY should be a CONDITION & GO day!
No matter what race…skin is still skin, just like hair is still hair, all are made with the same molecules and compounds and they all need the same nutrients.

5-10 inches is the MAX if you are not CONSTINENTLY wetting & conditioning your hair WEEKLY!
Why? Because that is the AVERAGE distance your NATURAL OILS on your scalp can move without WATER/Assistance.
Most women’s oils can’t travel more that 2-3 inches. What you think is shedding hair is usually DRY, BRITTLE, WEAK hair that can’t take much tension. You hair begins to thin, split and fall out!
You will have better results when you do it DAILY( healthy, shinny, curly, STRONG, hair).
Your hair is its STRONGEST when it is WET! You hair is its WEAKEST when it is DRY.
You better find you some water and keep your hair WET.
