  1. Not only is marriage important for financial reasons; (2) people can do better than (1); but it also sets a good example for our daughters (and sons). It signifies commitment!! And ,whether we want to admit it, or not….kids (especially males) do better when they have a committed (present) father in the home. Children that come from an intact mother/father husband/wife setting tend to go on to respect family, and marriage, and eventually get married themselves
